Trio – one is Russian-born violinist Savva Zverev and Sid Ramchander, born in India; appearing in the iconic St Chad’s Church, an opportunity not to be missed.
Savva is a versatile performer who enjoys solo, orchestral and chamber music collaborations. He is a sought-after performer in the North-West of England where he has appeared as a soloist with the Hallé, Chester Philharmonic, Halifax Symphony Orchestra and Leeds Symphony Orchestra amongst others.
A busy orchestral musician, Savva has played as Guest Leader and Section Principal with Northern Ballet Sinfonia and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
In 2020, Savva recorded all 24 Paganini Caprices for violin solo as part of his charity project, #paganinimonday - a 24-week-long online fundraising marathon in support of UK-based arts organisations.
Upon completion of his studies at the prestigious Central Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory, Savva received a full scholarship to study at the Royal Northern College of Music under Yuri Torchinsky, Leader of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. After graduating with 1st class honours and a short Covid-19 career at bet365, Savva is looking forward to the rest of the busy concert season which includes a series of recitals, concerto appearances, as well as projects with the Ulster Orchestra, Northern Ballet Sinfonia and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
The other half of Trio - one is Sid Ramchander, born in India, grew up in Bahrain where he learned to play the piano. At 16 he was accepted to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. In the following years, he completed the Bachelor and Masters Degrees, with Honours.
Coming to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Sid completed Advanced Post Graduate Diplomas in Solo Performance and Accompaniment (receiving First Class Honours). During this time, he received the Bemrose Bursary Prize, awarded by the Duffield Music Society, the Piano Duo Prize, and Accompanist Prizes for the James Martin Oncken and Alexander Young son competitions. From 2019-2021 he served as a Junior Fellow in Accompaniment at the RNCM. He is a 2021 Samling Young Artist.
Savva inform us that, ‘As regards the repertoire, the main body of the concert (less the encores, so to say) will be as follows: Edvard Grieg - Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 1 F major, op. 8, Fritz Kreisler - Praeludium and Allegro, Liebesfreud, liebesleid, Schön Rosmarin, Syncopation, Marche Miniature Viennoise.
