Rochdale Creates is Rochdale Borough’s brand for the creative and cultural
sectors. Their directory website, will launch in July 2024 and they are working with
partners across the borough to create vibrant and engaging content for the
website and future marketing campaigns.
In order to help with this, Rochdale Creates is looking for photographers who
specialise in one or more of the below:
- Buildings, to take images of our creative spaces, studios, gig venues,
exhibition spaces and more to capture the feeling and potential of the place
for potential users
- Portraits, to take photos of our creatives in the borough, capturing their
personality and creativity, in a professional manner
- Products, to take photos of handmade items, clothes, etc to showcase on
our new online platform – ideally with an option to host a hands on workshop
with top tips for creatives to take their own images, with low tech
requirements
- Performances, to take photos of live action, showcasing the vibrancy of
the event, audience reactions and performers’ skills.
WHAT THE PHOTOS ARE FOR
Photos will be used on the new Rochdale Creates Directory website, to showcase
talent, spaces and activities happening in the borough as a whole and for specific
organisations / freelancers. Photos may also be used for specific marketing
campaigns by the individual organisations / freelancers, Rochdale Creates and its
partners.
HOW IT WILL WORK
An opportunity for creative organisations / freelancers in the borough to have professional photos taken of their space / people / products / performances that can be used on our new Rochdale Creates website.
Photographers will be contracted by Rochdale Development Agency for 2-4 days
each, and organisations / freelancers can book in time slots on these days to have
their photos taken.
The RDA will manage the booking process. Once the shoots
have been completed, the photographer will edit the images and send them to the
RDA and the organisation for feedback / use.
ADDITIONAL WORKSHOPS
They want to support our creatives to showcase their work online and are looking for
a photographer who would be able to host a workshop on how to take quality
images of products, without having to use high tech equipment.
HOW TO APPLY
Please submit a short expression of interest letter to
admin@rochdalecreates.co.uk outlining:
- Which element(s) of the brief you are applying for (Space, Portraits,
Products, Performance, Workshops)
- Your fee for 2 / 3 / 4 days of photoshoots + editing time
- Examples of your work relevant to this call out
- Why you are interested in this work and how you would approach it
- Your availability in July and early August.
