Review by Steve Cooke

On this Remembrance Week November 2025, local author Gary Bridson-Daley tells me that he is, “very proud to announce the release of the Extended Versions of my new book 'Poetry and Portraits' in a Deluxe Colour Version with Supplementary Material including a veteran with links to Rochdale”. [Mary Jane Conway who worked as a nurse at Birch Hill Hospital in Rochdale and only passed a few months ago aged 103!]

There is a Black and White Version with Supplementary Material that should be going live soon as well.

Both include additional and new Veterans Interviews, More Poetry, Some Extended Veterans stories from the originals in the book from all nationalities and cultures, nearly 80 pages more!

This will make a great read for those interested in National and World History, and that of World War Two and other conflicts as well.

These new books are highly and more illustrated than his previous books have been, enhancing the visual interest and pleasure of seeing/reading them.

Please help Gary get the Veterans stories out there into the public domain where the belong so that we can honour their service and sacrifices, by spreading the word in as many ways possible, including  putting the link to the books on as many social media platforms as you can, this will be greatly appreciated by Gary.
