As we ease slowly out of lockdown, with a few more can do’s and not many less can’t do’s the arts world is waking up to possibilities here in Halifax. In as much as one of my choirs, Out of the Box, is wondering about an outdoor flash mob singing session. We’re all still very concerned about social distancing and finding a public space that can hold us without overcrowding for the other users but we are all excited about the prospect.

The great thing about our discussions is that even if nothing comes of it we are all looking to the future, this has given us a purpose, this has given us meaning again and something to look forward to. We may never perform in a park or garden, we may plan it and find the weather has other ideas but this idea on its own has given up one great thing. Hope!
