Free Folk Education Development Day

English Folk Expo is working with partners EFDSS on a brand new, FREE, online Folk Education Development Day taking place from 10.30am - 4.30pm on Friday 19th June 2020.


The day will focus on folk education initiatives in the Greater Manchester as well as other areas of the North West and Yorkshire. Tom Besford will be discussing the response during COVID 19, the Artist Development and Promoter Training Programmes and the forthcoming Rochdale Folk Festival.

English Folk Expo supports English folk, roots and acoustic music through festivals, events, showcasing, artist mentoring, industry training, audience development, international partnerships and commissions.


EFDSS [English Folk Dance & Song Society] is the national folk arts development organisation for England. They champion the English traditional arts – music, song, dance, storytelling, customs and traditions – as part of the rich and diverse cultural landscape of the UK.


EFDSS is based at Cecil Sharp House in London, home of the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library and Sound Archive.
