SING MESSIAH AT ST CHADS

By Steve Cooke

As previously previewed in this column, coming up on Saturday 30th July, we have an opportunity to participate in Come and Sing Messiah, led by Philip O’Connor - an advanced opera graduate (Tenor) from the RNCM and Manchester Cathedral.

What a great and unique opportunity to experience a wonderful day of participation with tuition and taking part in a public concert in the iconic, atmospheric setting of St Chad’s Parish Church in the centre of Rochdale.

Current take-up is very encouraging, however, especially if you are a male voice, stop just thinking about it and sign up now!

The day will start at 9.30 am with workshops until 3.00pm and then a celebratory public concert at 3.30pm.

Professional Soprano soloist Alicia Cadwgan, a fellow graduate of Philip O’Connor from RNCM, will also sing, with St Chad’s own Philip Lowe the accompanist on the organ.

The event costs £10 for participants.

Drinks are provided but singers are asked to take a packed lunch.

If you would like to take part, you should get in touch with Jill Midgley.

Phone: 01706 639162

Don’t miss this chance to be part of the performance rather than a member of the audience.
